{Friday, March 29}

Well a lot has happened since my last post.

My partner and I have broken up and I was a bit sad and haven't posted for a while. It is so strange not being his girlfriend. I miss a lot of things. The smell on the pillow when I wake up after he has gone to work. Knowing that he will always be there.

We are still friends. We are still living together (sharing a room with single beds) which is odd. Sometimes I think tht it would be better if we could just be done with it so it will be easier to move on. Already things are changing. I am in Cork and am heading up to Galway if there is a place for me to lay my head. This is the longest I have spent away from Andy for almost 4 years.

I have to resist the urge to forget my instincts and say lets forget about it and get back together, and I know he does too.

Easter is coming. Yes, now that I have watched St Patrick's Day pass me by I can hardly wait to do the same with Easter. I think that I want to go to Northern Ireland for a few days over the break. It is meant to be nice up there (a little rough but where isn't).

Have been playing on the internet all morning. Saw this conspiracy web thing that was interesting . My flatmate is inconsolable as his computer crashed. He has taken the day off work to put all the programs back on and running.

That is about it for the day really.

Well St Patrick's day went as well as can be expected of my life. The Parade went right past my place but do you think that I could raise my poor thumping head off the pillows. Alas no. Oh Well I guess I'll watch it on TV next year.

Well it is finally Friday and not only that it is a long weekend for St Patricks Day. What could be better. Except the parade going past my place so I don't even have to leave the comfort of my living room to watch it pass by. I have to find out if this is really the case, it would be brilliant if it were as I think that it is going to rain all weekend.

Another great day. I knew that lugging a cumbersome umbrella where ever I went would pay off. My Swedish flatmate is back from his trip home and is proving to be very easy to live with. Has spent all home time glued to his computer playing games with headphones on. It's like a lovely ornament has come to share (what is it about good looks and Sweden). And is talking about buying an extra hard drive with 250 DVD's on it. Ahh soon we will all be square eyed.

It is wonderfully sunny and bright today. It has given me hope for the beginning of Spring (even though it did snow again on the weekend, hummmmmmm). That is one of the things I dislike about living over here, the absolutely appalling weather. Irish people seem to take pleasure in telling you that 20 is the highest it gets all year round. No wonder people are so pale here.

I have a toothache today. I was just speaking to a friend yesterday about my fear of Irish dentists so it is most likely psychosomatic. I used to be one of those people who always went to their dentist appointments but now I haven't been for two and a half years. I just do not see the point ever since I moved to England and now to Ireland. Why should I go and see a dentist when their profession has clearly failed the majority of the population.

I have been thinking all week that this weekend was going to be St Patricks Day. And I just found out that it is next week. This will be my first St Patricks Day in Ireland. I'm pretty excited. Last year I was in London and went to Filthy MacNasty's in Islington had a big night but wasn't really the same as it was a Scottish pub.

I am feeling very brain dead today. Might be a side effect from watching The Last Boy Scout last night. Was fairly dire but with enough gunfire and car chases to keep me awake. My favorite film of all time is Cabaret. It is not quite the same genre is it. But went through a significant phase of wanting to be just like Sally Bowles. I didn't get to go to the Kit Kat club in Berlin though when I was there (went with friends who were "not up to a night clubbing") but Berlin is one of my favourite cities so with any luck I will get to go back. We went for the Love Parade last year, unfortunately was cancelled at the last minute and became the Fuck Parade - was not quite the same.

Well another weekend over with. As I get older I find that the days are slipping by ever faster. What is with this. Is it the start of dementia or just something that happens to old people. Whatever I remember when I was a kid time was almost in slow motion. Now it seems like I am on a conveyor and it never slows down.
I moved on the weekend. It is great to have a place to call home at last. The very act of removing my "stuff" (and why do I have so much of this) from my backpack gave me a thrill. Maybe I need to get out more.
